The Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency decided JustWare was the right case management solution to help them achieve their vision to create a better society.
AGENCY IMPACT
The Community Corrections staff serves ten counties in three judicial districts. Their staff is spread through nine different offices and locations throughout these counties. The staff previously relied on creating a paper history for each case. They then had to spend hours each month manually compiling statistics to create monthly reports for the entire program, causing them to divide their time between their standard job functions, record-keeping, and statistics-gathering.
April Clark, the Community Corrections Director, began looking for an automated case management system in January of 2006. She needed a system that would not only ease the staff’s record-keeping burden, but would also compile statistics automatically and make those statistics available to her and other management at any time. The case management system would also have to accommodate the Community Corrections disparate offices, allowing staff from each office to access the same database – therefore a web-based application was required.
The Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency selected JustWare | Probation & Parole after learning that the Tennessee District Attorney General’s Conference was implementing JustWare | Prosecutor statewide.
[Selecting JustWare] is absolutely the best move that I have made as a manager for myself and for my staff. It has allowed our staff to have more time with the clients because the system does the reports for them and they do not have to spend time doing the monthly reports and other various reports.

The human resource agency underwent a rapid and successful implementation.
“The JustWare implementation was great! We have staff from all perspectives, some are very computer literate, but for some it was a real struggle to get them online with the thought of case management without the paper trail. The New Dawn staff helped everyone no matter what their needs were,” said Clark.
JustWare met all of the program’s requirements for a case management system. Staff members in all of the offices could access the same database via New Dawn’s thin-client solution. JustWare eliminated the office’s need to keep paper records, and New Dawn Technologies’ Business Intelligence Department developed several key reports for the office, eliminating the need to gather statistics manually. This made it possible for management to view all their reports at any time, not just once a month.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
April Clark is very satisfied with how JustWare has revolutionized her office.
“[Selecting JustWare] is absolutely the best move that I have made as a manager for myself and for my staff. It has allowed our staff to have more time with the clients because the system does the reports for them and they do not have to spend time doing the monthly reports and other various reports,” she stated. “[The] reports give me quick, correct, current information without having to call the officers and have them pull the info and then get it back to me.”
The Community Corrections Program plans to use JustWare in more creative ways as they grow, discovering new ways to help them accomplish their mission to “divert felony offenders from the Tennessee Prison system and to provide necessary supervision and services to the offenders with the goal of reducing the probability of continued criminal behavior while maintaining the safety of the community.”
