The Office of Chief Disciplinary Council in Jefferson City, Missouri selected New Dawn’s Adaptive Case Management solution to improve their workflow.
AGENCY IMPACT
Having a case management system that is easy to use can make a world of difference in the efficiency of an office. The Office of Chief Disciplinary Council (OCDC) in Jefferson City, Missouri selected New Dawn’s Adaptive Case Management solution to streamline their office and consolidate their information. This council serves as the disciplinary unit for all attorneys in the state of Missouri. Whenever an individual files a complaint against an attorney, the Office of Chief Disciplinary Council investigates the complaint for ethics violations and takes disciplinary action when necessary.
We are really excited to see all the different applications of Adaptive Case Management for our office. There are so many ways we can use this new system to improve the office immediately and many more we have not yet thought of.
Maridee Edwards, Chief Disciplinary Counsel
The Office of Chief Disciplinary Council was working from four disparate records databases. The office spent too much time searching for case information and trying to locate all cases in which an individual was involved. The process was so cumbersome that attorneys would not use the system regularly, which put more strain on the office staff. Case review and processing was often delayed until a staff member had time to search the databases for the necessary information.
New Dawn Technologies worked closely with the disciplinary council to convert records from the existing databases into a single database. New Dawn also created a web service interface that regularly adds or edits name and contact information in the Adaptive Case Management solution when changes are made in the Missouri State Bar Association system.
“The process is much faster,” stated Maridee Edwards, Chief Disciplinary Counsel. The case management system is also streamlining the office through name and case related notes, cost tracking, and centralized document tracking and automation.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
One of the biggest impacts on the office is the ability to view all case information on a single screen. In the previous system, there was not a single location for users to view all person-related information, including all cases in which that person was involved.
“The new, integrated system cuts down on all the extra steps we had before. The attorneys have even started to search for their own information,” continued Edwards.
“We are really excited to see all the different applications of Adaptive Case Management for our office. There are so many ways we can use this new system to improve the office immediately and many more we have not yet thought of,” commented Edwards.
Through automated processes and easy-to-use software, New Dawn Technologies is making a difference at the Office of Chief Disciplinary Council and the surrounding community of Jefferson City, Missouri. For disciplinary council employees, Adaptive Case Management is making life simpler and better, both in and away from the office.
