Following the bankruptcy of its previous case management solution vendor, Mariposa County Probation Office began a thorough search for a new system provider in 2005.
Their search finally led them to New Dawn Technologies and its JustWare | Probation & Parole solution. Upon selection of New Dawn’s innovative case management solution, Mariposa County Probation Office became the fourth California probation agency to select JustWare in the last two years.
JustWare was the ideal solution for Mariposa County Probation because of its accommodating price model, flexibility, and wide range of useful features.

Despite challenging time restrictions, JustWare was implemented quickly enough for Mariposa County Probation staff members to attend New Dawn’s annual training conference. This conference is provided for JustWare users to learn how to better exploit the features and functionalities of their case management solution to enhance their service to the community.
“The system was accessible immediately,” said Gail Neal, Mariposa County’s Chief Probation Officer. “It was not a matter of getting trained and then waiting until the entire program was usable.”
The Mariposa County Probation Office was able to make a smooth and easy transition to JustWare. The office is now successfully using JustWare for case management, automated document creation, and reporting. JustWare’s filing cabinet feature makes it possible for the Mariposa Probation staff to store vital information in paperless files, allowing staff members to handle most of their workflow electronically.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
The rapid implementation of JustWare within the Mariposa County Probation Office facilitated a timely turnaround from the point of employing a new, agency-wide case management solution to the point that probation services were available to those in need. Since Mariposa County Probation did not experience a severe degree of downtime that can be commonly experienced with a transition in case management systems, it was able to continue providing services to its many clients with the same level of commitment and even higher quality than before.
