Montana State Office of the Public Defender trusted New Dawn to help them protect the rights of their community by creating a new statewide software integration and providing greater accessibility to public records.

After Montana State Legislature endorsed a statewide public defender system, the Montana State Office of the Public Defender chose New Dawn Technologies to meet its case management needs.
“[JustWare’s] flexibility allows us to change and use its components to fit our needs, and it easily met the standards of the state’s upgrade policy,” said Bonnie Martello, Administrative Support Supervisor of Region 4.
We needed to do something or die. Our caseloads were becoming difficult to control. Implementing JustWare is an essential step in controlling our caseloads. Accurate data is critical. JustWare allows us to create a single location where all the necessary data is readily available. By customizing the many options, we are able to perform our work more quickly and easily.

The initiative was designed to help Montana public defenders serve the citizens of their communities faster, and with greater efficiency, by standardizing defense services throughout the state. Among the requirements outlined in the initiative were the implementation of electronic records databases, performance and cost accountability, comprehensive conflict checking, and overall enhanced case management capabilities.
Implementing JustWare has enabled the Montana State Office of the Public Defender to simplify its daily processes and improve statewide communication. JustWare’s integration capabilities provide successful tracking for cost accountability and performance in the public defender‘s office.
